Lille president confirms battle for Renato Sanches: “His future will be in Paris or Milan”

The president of Lille has confirmed that Renato Sanches will join either AC Milan or Paris Saint-Germain at the moment amid persistent rumours over his future.

Hadrien Grenier of the French newspaper L’Equipe (via MilanLive) reported last night that the Portugal international will accept Milan’s offer within 48 hours if PSG and Lille fail to find an agreement, but that was on the basis that the Rossoneri had a deal in place.

Olivier Letang – the president of Lille – spoke today at the press conference and was asked about the future of Renato Sanches, confirming the two clubs who are in the running to sign him.

“Renato Sanches has two possibilities, two great clubs. If he is still with us it is because no agreement has yet been found with these clubs. Renato will go away, to which club I do not know. I will keep the nature of these discussions confidential. His future will be in Paris or Milan,” he said (via MilanNews).

It seems therefore that the former Benfica and Bayern Munich man will leave the club between now and the start of the new campaign, but who will win the race could well be a 50/50 battle unless a decisive acceleration comes from either side soon.
