AC Milan are looking to sign Goncalo Inacio this summer, but they will have to work with Sporting CP on the transfer fee.
It is no secret that Milan need to decide on a central defender, with several currently in the mix. Indeed, Mario Gila is an option that has arisen again, but Virgil van Dijk and Inacio seem to be the leading candidates.

Right now, based on reports, it would seem that there is around €30-35 million available for a centre-back, which would be enough for Gila and perhaps van Dijk. However, more would be needed for the Rossoneri to sign the Portuguese option.
Defender shortlist
As Corriere dello Sport writes, via MilanNews, the €60m release clause seems to be ineffective, with Sporting lowering their asking price to €40m. However, the Diavolo are seeking a further discount on this price.
It is not expected to be much less than they are seeking, perhaps just in line with their ideal budgeting for the position. Considering Ruben Amorim’s explicit request for him, though, perhaps they will push the boat out to get his first choice.
Whichever way you look at it, though, it is certainly not a bad list of names to recruit this summer.
