LIVE: AC Milan 2-2 Torino – Follow the game with SempreMilan’s commentary

AC Milan are taking on Torino this evening and it’s Paulo Fonseca’s first official game in charge of the team. Clinching all three points is the only goal and the fans are beaming with excitement to start the season.

Fonseca has named a rather surprising starting XI for the game, with Alexis Saelemaekers starting at left-back, but at least this means Samuel Chukwueze is playing as well. The record against Torino at San Siro is stellar and anything other than a win tonight would be a let-down.

Below, you can follow the game with our commentary on X and there are bound to be some exciting incidents underneath the floodlights at San Siro.

  1. Trying to watch this on the OneFootball app in the UK, just a blank screen. Was perfect on Discovery last season, now can’t watch… fantastic

    1. Well I think a lot of us were excited at the possibility of offloading him to Newcastle but sadly that didn’t progress.

He’s actually got great physical characteristics and is reasonable at passing but he simply makes too many mistakes which is basically unacceptable for a GK or defender as they directly cost goals.

      1. Absolutely no one is surprised to see him score yet another own goal. When a Milan defender screws up big time, you can bet your house on the fact that the player is Thiaw.

        1. Thiaw gets the hate because of the own that was ricochet between him and Tomori on the goal line. While Thiaw had one of two big chances where Leao missed the rebound. And Leao should have score two this game, i know for sure who have been the baddest of those two until halftime

          1. Thiaw gets the hate because he touched the ball over the line instead of putting his foot through it. Number one sin as a defender is not knowing where you are on the pitch.

          2. This. You don’t try to control the ball on the goal line, you kick it away ASAP.

And Thiaw was in spotlight for the 2nd goal as well as it was his man who scored.

  2. Leao is absolutely useless. Never understood the hype about him. He is the epitome of inconsistency. We should have sold him for a bazillion dollars when we had the chance

  3. How are we going to survive this season with this poor defence? I hope we don’t throw away a 2 point lead on Inter today. Forza Milan!

  4. Leao will be always leao, super great run and super dribble but not too prolific and the defence is just same old story. Basically theres nothing change if we not playing all new players that we bought in this mercato, its just same old milan. Come on lads there is still a second half and in bring in morata and pavlovic. Forza milan

  5. Malik shouldn’t even be seeing the lineup anymore, what a waste of personnel.
The starting lineup is a mess to start with and the substitution is all wrong..

  6. This was what everyone feared when Fonseca was announced. But it’s the first game, let’s see where this gets us the 10th matchday.

    1. Bruh it’s Torino not Atalanta Fiorentina or idk even Bologna… it’s fricking Torino.. a 12th place team with players like I don’t even wanna comment what players.. and we should be happy we losin 2:0 only. It’s a disgrace – you maybe tie this game but you don’t lose against Torino infornt of 85k on your first game . I will tel you where we will be – 6th maybe 7th

  7. Haha i tell Fonseca is loser and Leao not anymore good. Sell him when he have good price and we will cry for Pioli.
This year if we take CL we must be happy.

    1. Yeah, Morata sprayed some nice passes, created chances, he was good. Musah also had some fire in his gut. Okafor off the bench is lethal. Still don’t understand why we would go for Abraham with him being as good as he was for us.

      1. saelmemaekers. I would rather see kalulu and emerson royal there. I love saelemaekers, but he is a small team player, as much gumption he shows. and as talented as he is, he understanding of the game compared to some top players is lacking. his positioning, awareness, decision-making, and ability to change the game is just nott there. and At this point i would rather see okafor rather than leao in left wing tbh. Im tired of the excuses

  8. I really think Leao should be nailed to the bench. Doesnt care about attacking and too slacky. Okafor again decisive, what a player. He should be starting LW from now on. And before those Leao fanboys attack me let me remind you- Leao has 7mil salary, yet he can’t finish simple 1v1 and doesnt have any will to get better.

  9. Rafa was wasteful and I think Bennecer really need to be sold, Thiaw continue were he left it last season being a disaster at the back..

Thanks to Okafor and Musa 💯

  10. What we have learned today:

    1. Thiaw should be benched, period. He has shown time and time again to be such a liability (Pavlovic and Gabbia should start before him)
    2. Calabria offers very little offensively and defensively. Should be benched permanently
    3. Chuku i dont care what people say, he is a disaster This is where a player like chiesa is desperately needed
    4. Leao, poor decision making and consistenly inconsistent.
    5. Big love to Morata, Musah, and Okafor. These are true players we need in the team
    6. Reijnders is becoming irreplaceable
    7. Bennacer and loftus cheek are garbage.
