Liverpool have confirmed that Divock Origi will leave the club when his contract expires, paving the way for him to join AC Milan on a free transfer.
The Premier League side confirmed the news in a statement on their official website, during which they announced that the Belgian will depart eight years after agreeing a move to Anfield from Lille.
After signing from the Ligue 1 side he remained in France for a season-long loan with Lille, but upon his return to Liverpool and in subsequent years he became known as the man for the big occasions.
He scored six goals in total in Merseyside derbies including a 96th-minute in front of the Kop, while he also netted in the Champions League comeback against Barcelona in the semi-final at Anfield and in the final versus Tottenham Hotspur with a late finish to make it 2-0.
In total, Origi scored 41 goals in his 175 appearances for the Merseyside club, and now everything suggests he will begin a new adventure in Italy with the champions Milan.
