Liverpool and Inter in five days – tough week awaits Milan after the break

The schedule for the league phase of the Champions League was announced earlier today and it was confirmed that AC Milan will start against Liverpool. As a result, they will be playing the Reds and Inter in the space of five days.

After the draw on Thursday, UEFA announced the dates and times for all rounds earlier today, with Milan starting against Liverpool. Real Madrid are up in the fourth round and the Rossoneri will end the league phase away at GNK Dinamo.

However, while this schedule is quite good overall, it means Milan will play Liverpool and Inter in the space of five days. The first game is scheduled for September 17 (Tuesday) and the Derby della Madonnina will most likely be played on September 22 (Sunday).

On the other hand, Inter will face Manchester City in their first game and it’s scheduled for Wednesday, so Milan will have more rest than their rivals. Based on the start of the season, the Rossoneri could certainly use it as the Nerazzurri have been miles ahead.

It should be noted that before these two clashes, Milan will face Venezia at home and regardless of tonight’s game against Lazio, that will be a must-win.
