Darwin Nunez’s time in Merseyside has not gone as many would have hoped, considering he arrived for almost €75 million, but AC Milan may be willing to offer him an opportunity.
When Liverpool made the decision to purchase Nunez, he was coming off the back of a 34-goal season with Benfica, and many expected the move to propel him to a new level. However, the Uruguayan striker has not managed such feats.
Instead, he has only managed 15 or more goals in a season once since moving to the Reds, and now a departure looks imminent.
In January, Milan reportedly considered testing the waters of a move, but nothing came to fruition. Their interest never faded, though, and it seems they will return to the table this summer, with The Athletic reporting as much this afternoon.
According to their sources, Liverpool are now ‘prepared’ to allow Nunez to leave the club, and are aware that interest will be present from the Rossoneri, as well as Atletico Madrid and the Saudi Pro League.
Considering €80m was sought in January, it will be interesting to see what valuation the Merseyside club places on the striker. With that said, if it is anywhere near that amount, it’d be difficult to see anything happen, at least from a Milan perspective.
He Can Stay at Liverpool or join Saudi Side better than join us we don’t want him isn’t good enough
We’re too obsessed with buying striker
No one, never mind us, is paying that for Darwin Nunez
With that money I would rather pay in instalments for Gyokeres or simply try for Osimhen.
Darwin lost it already just like Joao Felix.
Yeah, 80 million euros, no thanks. Next.
LOL. Why would/should we buy an overpriced striker capable of scoring max. 5 goals per season in Serie A? I’d rather bring back Colombo for free than spend a single euro on this waste of money.
