CorSport: Why Lobotka and Leao are the tactical keys for Spalletti and Pioli

Stanislav Lobotka and Rafael Leao are two of the possible tactical keys for the Champions League quarter-final second leg tomorrow night, a report claims.

Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) this morning writes how Luciano Spalletti’s side will come to the match without the disqualified Kim Min-Jae meaning Juan Jesus will take a spot alongside Amir Rrahmani in the heart of the rearguard.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo will be the captain for the Azzurri and his opponent will be Theo Hernández, who Stefano Pioli will field with Davide Calabria, Simon Kjær and Fikayo Tomori in the defence.

Another problem for Spalletti in view of the game is André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who is part of the strongest and best midfields in Serie A. This is thanks to the tactical intelligence of Lobotka, through whom a lot passes in terms of build-up play and dictating the tempo of the game.

Tanguy Ndombele could play in the place of Anguissa, while Pioli on the other hand has Sandro Tonali who guarantees coverage and insurgence, while Rade Krunić and Ismaël Bennacer add physicality.

Victor Osimhen will be there in Napoli-Milan tomorrow evening and with him Napoli are a different team. The Azzurri will need the goals of the Nigerian, as well as the ideas of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from the left.

Speaking of phenomenal left wingers, Pioli’s best tactical weapon is Leao. If the Portuguese is not at his best, Milan’s attack loses weight, incisiveness and danger. If, on the contrary, he is the best version of himself, then it won’t be easy for anyone to stop him.
