Loftus-Cheek ‘convinced’ that ‘better results will start to arrive’ for Milan

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is convinced that the results will start coming soon for AC Milan, stressing the importance of staying united as a squad.

The switch to a 4-4-2 formation means that head coach Paulo Fonseca considers Loftus-Cheek a reserve for now, even if he has missed the past couple of games due to an injury that he is now very close to shaking off.

The Englishman will have to try to adapt his way of playing to the coach’s needs if he wants to win back a starting spot, all while the management look at another signing in the midfield department as per widespread reports.

Nonetheless, the former Chelsea man still has an important role to play and his 10 goals last season made him one of the most in-form players in Serie A, so there is still hope that he could get back to his best.

Loftus-Cheek was interviewed by SportMediaset and it aired last night, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Everyone wants to win every game and this, sometimes, is not possible: then the most important thing is to stay united, train well and do things in the right way,” he said.

“I am convinced that better results will start to arrive because how we work in training can only improve what we put on the pitch.”

Most important coaches? Without a doubt Sarri has been fundamental in my career. He was at Chelsea when I was younger, he gave me the opportunity to learn.

“Under his guidance I can say that I have improved a lot as a footballer, it is the season in which I have improved the most in my career.”
