Milan ensured that their season ended in winning fashion, as they beat bottom of the table Monza 2-0 at San Siro. Matteo Gabbia got the opening goal with a header from a corner before Joao Felix signed his loan spell off in style when he whipped in a free-kick to make sure of the points.
It is a result that does nothing in terms of salvaging what has been a dismal campaign, one that will result in no European football for 2025-26. The protests before and during the game said exactly how the fans feel, and the players must have been aware of the discontent that was surrounding them.
Loftus-Cheek spoke to DAZN immediately after the full-time whistle to offer his thoughts on the game and the season as a whole, with his comments coming via MilanNews.
Ruben, how are you?
“I feel better. I’m happy with the victory, but now we’re thinking about next season straight away.”
What did you think of the fan protest?
“It was a difficult season for us too, it’s not good like this. Now let’s think about next season.”
