An appeal has been lodged against yet another move to block AC Milan fans travelling from Lombardy to an away game, this time against Verona.

At present, Milan fans residing in Lombardy – the region that the Rossoneri call home – cannot buy tickets for nor attend the game against Hellas Verona on Saturday. The news emerged officially during the pre-match press conference ahead of the Udinese game.

After the refusal to allow fans to travel to Napoli away. This ban, imposed by the Observatory, has not gone down well, so much so that protests immediately erupted.

Appeal ready

According to MilanNews, the appeal prepared by the AIMC (Association of Milan Clubs in Italy – the only body authorised to exercise it) is ready to be submitted to the Veneto Regional Administrative Court.

The delay in its actual filing is due to the fact that the competent authorities have not yet issued a final ruling. As soon as it arrives, an appeal will be filed (likely under an urgent procedure) to try to overturn the decision by the Observatory.

The authorities’ path seems clear enough: as long as the investigations and trials against Milan fans in the ‘Doppia Curva’ case remain open, they will try as much as possible to limit their attendance at matches played away from San Siro.

Those affected will always be those residing in Lombardy, thus causing damage not only to the team, but also to the host clubs, who will have thousands of unsold tickets in the away section.
