Longari: Xavi could leave Barcelona in stunning turnaround – Milan may re-evaluate

By Ben Dixon -

It seemed that Xavi Hernandez would leave his post as Barcelona manager at the end of the current season. However, earlier this month, the Spanish legend made a turnaround in his decision and opted to stay. Nonetheless, the Spaniard now seems set to leave once again, and AC Milan could re-enter the equation.

The Milan managerial merry-go-round is not the only European example this season. Perhaps it is not even the best or the most confusing one.

Reports emerged earlier this season that the Barcelona legend would leave the Blaugrana at the end of the 2023-24 season, and this had piqued the interest of the Rossoneri, who, themselves, are looking to change managers.

However, at the start of May, the Catalan club confirmed that the former midfielder would stay, making earlier reports of the Rossoneri’s interest seem obsolete. But not for long.

As Gianluigi Longari has reported via his X account, the decision for Xavi to stay may become outdated after reports suggest that the relationship has broken down, making a departure possible.

With this in mind, it means the Rossoneri, who are entering the critical moments of hiring a new head coach, may again enter the equation if the Barcelona situation does not change for the third time.

  1. Please we don’t need him, he is crying always than doing his well.
He hasn’t proved anything as coach rather than crying.

He have better squad at barca than Milan.

  2. Teams like Atalanta and Torino will smile playing against his fragile tactics. Not the right personality above all. He’ll be worse than Luís Enrique at Roma. He may do well in Spain and Germany. Probably too arrogant to want to adapt to some important means of the Peninsula. He will get frustrated and want to walk away.
