Longo: ‘Decisive hours’ – Kalulu takes part in Milan training amid Juventus interest

In Tuesday night’s Silvio Berlusconi Trophy fixture against Monza, Pierre Kalulu was not selected, but the French defender trained with the AC Milan squad on Wednesday morning whilst talks with Juventus continue.

At one point, it looked like Pierre Kalulu was in line to challenge Davide Calabria for a starting role at right-back with Paulo Fonseca experimenting with the defender in a new position, given his importance within the central defender group was lessening.

With Alessandro Florenzi suffering an injury, his chances of a position looked fairly solid, but after Emerson Royal signed for the club this week, he is in limbo – he offers depth in two positions, but he will not compete for a starting place.

Juventus have taken stock of the situation and in recent days, they have made their interest known, with the Turin club looking to sign the Frenchman on loan for the upcoming season, with the option to buy Kalulu at the end of the loan.

Whilst the figures are changing, the potential of a move is on, especially with Kalulu being left out of the squad to face Monza on Tuesday night. Nevertheless, Daniele Longo reports that the defender took part in training this morning.

However, he also suggested that we are entering some ‘decisive hours’ about the player’s future.

  1. Player taking part in training while there is ongoing negotation , is not the player who pushes for move like everybody is saying,he is just chill ,if it happens ok,if not he doesnt care, our little brother was never a troublemaker ❤️ i would like from all my heart that this transfer colapse

  2. My opinion is that selling him is HUGE mistake!!! He would be a starter and would improve to world class, if he gets a chance. I think he is better than this Royal…

  3. Fans think that every player that leaves Milan will become a world-class player, and that Milan will regret selling them.
Outside of Edgar Davids, Patrick Vieira, Aubameyang and Hakan, can’t recall a player that left Milan and did better at another club.
BTW there is a video of Jan Carlo Simic in circulation of him “turning” into a world-class player. He gets bullied and makes awful mistakes in the Belgium league but thought he is already good enough for Milan.

New language, new country, new club, new teammates etc. That probably couldn’t affect him now could it? Because CdK and Chuk were cooking from the start right?

      1. Yes, those can happen, but the context is, the boy wanted to play regularly at Milan and earn the same salary as first team regular. But he is not that level yet.

Milan was forced to sell because they dont want to lose Simic for free, and they also dont want to renew his contract by giving him salary far above his level.

Our fans here keep talking about him (before his transfer) like he is a generational talent and we should give him anything he want – but no. He isnt, or at least, is not that level yet.
