Longo: The details on the bonuses as Milan reach agreement to sign Musah

By Isak Möller -

Yunus Musah is one step away from joining AC Milan and could thus become the club’s eighth signing of the summer. Earlier this evening, details emerged regarding the bonuses that are included in the deal.

The Athletic, among many others, have confirmed that Milan have reached an agreement with Valencia for the transfer of Musah. The negotiations were very tough but the player’s willingness to join the Rossoneri made the difference in the end.

According to Daniele Longo, the final details are now being sorted out by the clubs and the base of the deal will be worth €18m. There will be an additional €3m in bonuses, with €2m being difficult bonuses (to achieve) and €1m being easy bonuses.

Musah is very enthusiastic about the move, per the report, having spoken with Stefano Pioli several times over the last few weeks. He’s expected to play either as a mezz’ala (on the side of a three-man midfield) or as one of two midfielders in a tandem.

  1. At least the management knows what it wants, and goes and gets it, so props for that.

Time will tell whether the team will be valid to win, but at least we’ll be competitive and hopefully some of these players will improve further. We still need a tall physical striker and probably a left-back backup to be able to handle all competitions, but I’m sure the management already knows that.

  2. Wait for it……..

“My god now we’re spending too much money on too many players! It’s the Chinese era all over again! 😭”

Um… didn’t you just say we won’t spend any money because Cardinale’s a piece of —

“I know but I got a new crystal ball mutherfker! And it’s telling me Pioli going to really struggle this season and probably be sacked by Christmas! 😭😭😭”

    1. Cardinale is so greedy he only bought these players to sell them next summer for profit so he can fill his pockets with Tonal,,, eh, Musah+Reijnders+Pulisic+Chewbacca-money!

      1. You don’t wanna see Milan making money from transfer? I guess you would love to see Milan spending tons of money on individual contract like SMS, Guler, or Frattesi, who don’t give a shit about playing for Milan?
Whenever you feel doubt about this transfer window and current management team, just remember Milan used to sign CDK (35mil), 30 years old Bonucci (42mil), 31years old Lucas Biglia (20mil), Mattia Caldara (38mil); letting Bakayoko, Samu Castilejo just sat on the bench for 2 seasons for doing nothing. Also, don’t forget letting Hakan, Kessie, and Donnaruma left the club for free.

    2. Jokes aside, have you seen the last two friendlies? We’re still having issues at the back. Set pieces and all. I’m loving the midfield and front lines, but I’m worried about the back four.

Thiaw, solid. Tomori, Calabria, Kjaer not so much. Kalulu hasn’t played yet, Simic looks good but young. I wonder what Pioli is thinking here.

    3. Even though I like Pioli, he might actually struggle. He’ll be under a lot more pressure if team doesn’t perform from the beginning especially with the tough calendar.

He needs to change formation to 4-3-3, get the new guys to assimilate the movements, get all players familiar with each other, etc. It’s not easy to get all players to mix unless they are humble and willing to put the team first.
Let’s not forget than none of the players bought is a big goalscorer, there is potential but you never know how that potential will develop.

Yes, Chelsea bought a lot of players with high potential and we saw how it ended.

  3. If I had a dollar for everyone bringing up 2017’s signing season..

Player per player it’s no comparison. We’re signing qualitatively far better now.

And yes, I was unhappy when Tonali left. Lets just reiterate that, but you move on. It’s not about one player.

  4. So u don’t think it’s a possibility that they’re priming up for a Leao and/or Theo sale in the future? They’re a hedge fund. This to me seems like hedge betting. One of them are bound to do well so it’s easier to sell Leao in the future

    1. cant talk sh*t about this window anymore so you are just pre b*tching about next year

good job, keep finding things to complain about

      1. Bro wtf is wrong with u? U need to touch grass or get laid or something to get that hate out.

Oh and I can critique this transfer window as any other transfer window in the past…ur tiny brain can’t understand what that means and it’s not worth having a conversation with you because it’s not a real discussion. You have a disjointed way of absorbing information.

        1. keep on complaining that Milan is doing well, Milan will win and you will keep on complaining and feeling hurt like those Inter fans

never met anyone as dumb as you, do u have mental issues?

          1. Like I said, you’ve proved me right….”..it’s not worth having a conversation with you because it’s not a real discussion. ” Just rinse and repeat. Your post lacks sense. Nothing u wrote makes sense..first of all I’m not complaining, it’s called an observation and then conjecture. Second why would someone complain about doing well? Anyways that enough entertaining u

Look at acm1899 and Reccmaan below, do we agree all the time? No, but that’s how to engage in something meaningful.

      1. The problem @IKWYDLS is the ppl like @Boulden (who is really @Pioli lol, and @bb – who screamed to sell Leao for 40M) is that they cannot engage in a meaningful discussion as that would require thought and analyzing facts and sadly they cannot do either. But hey @bb scored 200 goals in the coed under seven church league!!! Perhaps we should sign him as our new #9???? Lol

It’s a valid question to ask. We funded this transfer window by selling a prized asset. No problem. Bold but seems like a good move. Will this be the norm going forward or was this more of a one time situation? It’s a fair question. I think it’s the former. We will sell a major player each summer to fund a budget over the allocated yearly 35M spend. Whether that is a good thing or not time will tell. Seems exciting now and I think we have improved a lot – but we won’t know until they play. Def could see us selling Kalulu and Bennacer and even Tomori, for the right offer, next to fund the next summer window. Like I said perhaps that is a good thing perhaps not. We shall see. But the question is a valid one. Doesn’t mean by asking it your upset at the signings lol. Just means your a thinker. I actually think they have done a good job so far with our signings (Musah included) and hope we finish it off with Singo, a backup LB and a striker.

Keep the signing coming Georgie Boy!

        1. “The problem @IKWYDLS is the ppl like @Boulden (who is really @Pioli lol, and @bb – who screamed to sell Leao for 40M) is that they cannot engage in a meaningful discussion as that would require thought and analyzing facts and sadly they cannot do either”

Coming from they guy who always attacks people who don’t share their view is HILARIOUS. You ignore facts and twist people’s word every chance you got.

Wasn’t it you who was bitching and crying how PATHETIC Milan & management were for their EMBARRASSING transfer actions and how the Cardinale was just keeping the money to himself? Yeah, it was. If someone is pathetic here it’s you. But you know that already. So does everyone else here.

    2. Theo’s and Leao’s time will come for hefty sums, I’m sure. It’s the direction they are taking as a club. Buy cheap, boost value, cash out.

But if this mercato is any indication of how they would cover for those departures, I’m confident in the transition.

      1. That’s how a good business running, buying cheap and reselling with double or triple the prices after having their services in 3-5 years. Not losing high value players for free or signing shitty on-loan or free-agent contracts like Dest, or Bakayoko.

      2. Agreed. I’m not saying they won’t be sold at some point It’s likely that they will. But they are doing well to hedge their bets with the purchases they’ve made (ur second paragraph). Its why I think even getting Cambiasso is a priority for them. Even Sportiello if he does well might create room for even Mike to move. He is a decent keeper tho not showing it in preseason lol. I

    3. All of foreign player will leave someday . It is rare to find player that play his whole career at one club like maldini or totti . Theo & leao will leave soon or later but as long as ACM can get cash from the sale then it is fine . They can find their replacement with that cash , they are better than zhang that sell IM player to pay debt ( sell lakaka 100m euro replace with dzeko free, sell hakimi 70m euro replace with dumfriez 17m euro, sell onana 50m euro replace with yannsommer 5m euro) .ACM management are really invest all that money from sale player to transfer budget this season, well atleast they are still better than IM owner. But get ready go with tight budget after new stadium start build like arsenal , it is pain for fans but still ACM must throught that

      1. Inter has huge financial problems. Not seeing how they can curb that without selling Latauro. Maybe they’ll get bailed by a Saudi Club. And yes def agree that all players will go. I just hope we win something before they go lol.

        1. Yeah , they really want sign player that can compete with theo ,not just deputy like ballo toure. So far target LB are cambiasso & pelegrini both are italian , they are prepared if theo want to leave , for maignan i think depend on his will to renew or not , if he dont want to renew then they will sell him at summer 2024 ( maignan contract expire 2025 CMIIW) , for leao i think he is safe with release clause 175m euro . We already win scudetto before they leave and maybe we can win champion league too before they leave ( just my hope )

          1. It was the second one I was hoping for. The big ears 😁. A bit of wishful thinking but gotta dream. I’m nervous about the season start though. There’s been so many changes.

  5. Good one let’s use musah as the No10 to help pulisic while rejinder and krunic should play a deep role then Loftus cheek should come through sub in our dynamic 4-2-3-1 formation

  6. hes a double pivot or a box to box. He will defend hard but he can’t do it alone…Rejinder in a double pivot is 50% beautiful and 50% no defense. My tv says RLC is a box to box but he hasnt seen his half of the field on defense yet after a couple friendlies. Even Rice couldn’t stop teams without Partey. Maybe there are small shifts in tactics that pull it together, but Im concerned.

  7. you can only sell them for profit, which should be massive for him and Rejinder in a few years if they can get stops and win games.

  8. So, Milan lose Tonali for 70 and reinvested the money on 3 players in the same positions, and potentially degrade Krunic back to the bench. A key player for three starters.

70 for 20+28+21, with some of those can be paid later in bonuses, at least that works in math. Now we just just need a striker and a left back that can be focus on after selling players, there is still time.

If these market proven to be a success on the field. We cab dream of getting upgrade of what we already has in the next season.

The bad news is this looks like it has been planned for long time, before even Maldini’s sacking.

  9. Any one or two of Musah, Reijnders, Chukwueze could hold that evaluation or more in 3 years so i dont know if you are being sarcastic but to retool the team while taking some bet son young players seems like intelligent planning. I just wish they would have focused a bit more on defense with the other signings.
