Ibrahimovic and Walker

Longo: Ibrahimovic ‘the mastermind’ behind Milan’s signing of Walker – the figures

AC Milan have decided to move forward with the signing of Kyle Walker and a total agreement could be reached tomorrow. According to a report, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the mastermind behind the operation.

After almost eight years at the club, Walker is looking to say goodbye to Manchester City and it looks like his next destination will be AC Milan. Negotiations have been ongoing for several days and as stated by Matteo Moretto earlier today, the deal is ‘99% done’.

As added by Daniele Longo, Ibrahimovic is the mastermind behind the operation as he was the one who suggested the right-back to the rest of the management. Then, once they all agreed he was a good fit, the Swede carried out the negotiations with the player himself – immediately getting a yes.

The right-back will sign a two-year contract in the summer worth €4m plus an additional €1m in bonuses per season. The formula will not be a free transfer, as first expected, but rather a paid loan of €1m with an option to buy at around €4m (Giorgio Furlani is hoping for a discount on this request).

The final details still need to be sorted out but the deal isn’t at risk, with a total agreement expected in the next 24 hours. Walker, as such, could carry out the medical tests on Tuesday morning.

  1. 5m per season? For a player that’s near the end of career and dropping performance? and for a RB position? which we have Calabria … Wow..

  2. mastermind 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Get out of Milan now ibra. Thanks for being a great striker but that’s where it ends. Ciao.

  3. We have Calabria?? We are looking for exactly this: an upgrade to Calabria! We were looking for an upgrade in Royal, we did not find it.
We have more or less two problems:
    1. We have been without a striker for a long time (From Sheva almost)
    2. We do not have a RB! And since we probably do not have the possibility of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jules Koundé or Achraf Hakimi coming to us, we MUST be satisfied with Walker. Upgrade.
I can add 3. We do not have players like Kaka, Boban, Panucci,…

    1. Yeah, I get people are keen to upgrade on Emerson he’s been so poor. But I don’t think we’re getting the Kyle Walker of the last decade, one of the very best RBs in the PL. He’s definitely deteriorated physically, and has several off field problems/scandals he’s running away from.

However it’s a 6 month loan where we can then decide whether to make permanent, so a stop gap.

  4. Ibra – the big nose guy who thinks he is god but is just a big nose clown and idiot rolled in one. Wasn’t he the one who chose fonseca?

    1. Replying to Jack.
Moncada was the one who decided to go with Fonseca, and Furlani being Furlani account first football second supported it. Ibra wanted Conte. Concenciao was his second choice. All documented in Sempre Milan. I’m not Pro-Zlatan but he’s being put on the for front to handle press and receives all the heat. It’s just his first year. Just like how Maldini in his first year did some mistakes as well (partly because of Leonardo/Moncada) and many weren’t happy, it took 5 years to at least for Maldini to work and learn and brought a Scudetto worthy team. Looking at the Juve-Milan result, one can’t just blame Fonseca for everything. We dismantled everything from Pioli to Tonali without even replacing them properly. As long as Gerry still believe in Money-ball and Moncada is around, with most of our starters lacking maturity always need to be motivated not understanding the value of Milan, Milan will stay like this no matter which manager/coach we bring in. Imagine yourself wherever you are now in your life, in your work place. You’re confident with your skill in work, but there’s just some colleagues that are just idiot/incompetent where because of them, you got the heat and have to answer for any problems caused because it’s your job/position. Be wise. We’re not Inter fans. Have some standard. Blaming anything now wouldn’t get us anywhere. The season is over at least in Serie A. Hopefully we can do well in UCL. At least.

      1. When we win, some people are not happy with the way we played. When we sign a player some people are not happy. There will always be people that see a glass half empty. Players and managers come and go, what stays is this glorious club that I will support no matter who the managers are.

      2. Exactly the reason why I don’t blame Ibra. If we can give Maldini grace/time to get things to work, it is also fair to extend the same courtesy to Ibra. Granted Ibra brings brash and is very egotistical but I’m not expecting him to operate the same way as Paolo. Ibra is new as you said but I’d like him to have his fingerprints on the team….not to the extent he gets canned but he needs to put his stamp on the team. Instead he seems to be scapegoatted for other people’s poor decisions

  5. While Walker’s age is not ideal, we desperately need a RB and I don’t see anyone who is hating on this transfer suggesting an alternative either. It’s probably because there isn’t one. We cannot afford a younger RB with Walker’s qualities and even a low-performing Kyle Walker is light years ahead of Calabria and Emerson combined. Not to mention he brings an insane winning mentality (6 premier league and a UCL title) which we could use at the moment.

    1. Lol, we could have had Belanova for roughly the same as Emerson. He is doing great in Atalanta, is young, better and Milan youth product.

      1. What mastermind?? We are paying 6M for a 34 year old right back who needs to be re-evaluated. Not to mention the remaining holes in this squad

  6. I keep reading different formulas for this transfer, so I don’t know. But as January reinforcements go, we can’t get a better RB/RCB at this price, or even a much higher price.

  7. How people hate this move is beyond me. Clearly an upgrade at Rb, and it’s a loan with an option to buy. It can’t be any worse than we have now, I personally like Walker. And worst case scenario we don’t exercise the buy clause and we shop again in Summer. This page is full of babies who only know how to cry and complain.

  8. I don’t know why most of you don’t look back on things before commenting. How long does it take a serious transfer to be closed 3-5 days but as usual Milan transfers goes from before a transfer window starts to No deal. Everyone of you are supporting Milan today mostly because of the achievements of the club so let me tell you what you know but forgot to see it. MILAN DID NOT ACHIEVE SUCCESS WITH BROKE OWNER AND MEDIOCRE MANAGEMENT LIKE THIS SET. Wait till you see a medical done first before you believe Milan management.
Watch out for stadium story when we failed to buy players. They will confuse us with stadium story

  9. These masterminds had opportunity to sign Retegui for 12 millions in 2023, they went for Jovic.

Last summer they could get Di Lorenzo for roughly the same amount they got Emerson and on top get Spinazzola for free. That way they could cover both flanks with homegrown players.

They sold Kalulu to our rivals for 18 millions 4th choice Pavlovic.

So now this team is flooded with foreign trash and before they can buy they need to sell to comply with regulation. They also don’t have any money so they need to sell before buying although that greaseball profit leech said they don’t need to sell out of necessity anymore.

    Behold, the masterminds.

    1. The worst part of this management signing players is completely ignoring the homegrown player quota. What’s good is a scout if you’re only limited to foreign player purchases? We have loads of room to fill spots there and with some quality Serie A players. We’re handcuffed on the foreign players

  10. mastermind if he works for man city – past it player on a huge salary and paying for him when there was discussions of him leaving on a free until last week!

  11. Mastermind 😂😂😂 We can only sign old guys and players other club doesn’t want and pay them huge salary. This club are becoming a joke.

  12. Mastermind my ass!

It’s just sad to see Ibra from hero to zero in less than a year after he retired. What he did right now is pretty much undo what Maldini already build. Ibra, what a fking clown 👎

  13. Mastermind?? Are you kidding. Mastermind if you get Van dijk, John Stones. He is at the end of his aging career. C’mon never far for big profit from selling Tomori to get 2 or 3 player.
Zlatan is a Big Player but a clown in managing, bring back Paolo

  14. According to a report, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the mastermind behind the operation. Hahahahaha!! Who was the mastermind who had let Kalulu leave?? Who was the mastermind who had let Adli leave?
Who was the mastermind who had let Daniel Maldini leave? Who was the mastermind who brought Emerson Royal, Morata and Pavlovic?

  15. I think Ibra should just drop this Management thing. I don’t even understand why a club of Milan’s stature would offer such a high ranking position to someone who’s interning. It’s a complete joke.
Great footballer, but so far , together with his compadres Furlani and Moncada, a very bad director

  16. I have 1 questions for u all
The people look at juve lineup?
    The selection?
Mackean played the right full back
    Our team is poorly constructed
Go back and watch our first leg with juve
Knowing fully well that they have injury crisis
They sit down deep or their own half
    They were not attacking minded
They just have to control the game and we ended up with draw
Our coach needs to read the games also and no how to approach the game after game not just attack attack
Juve did not play with no 9 and jet they beat us

  17. Everyone here who laugh at “mastermind”…think that they are better than ibra if they were in ibra’s possition. They are have a bigger mouth than ibra himself…
