Longo: Maignan inclined to accept Milan’s renewal offer – the latest on Theo

By Isak Möller -

Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan have both been crucial for France at the Euros, now preparing for the semi-final, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by AC Milan. According to a report, things are moving on the renewal front.

The French duo are under contract with Milan until 2026 and in the last few months, there have been many rumours regarding their future. However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it clear that they will remain and that seems to be the stance still.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Maignan is now inclined to accept the offer made by Milan and Giorgio Furlani to renew. There will be a significant increase from the current €2.8m he receives per year, but it certainly seems justified.

As for Hernandez, Milan are willing to keep him past this summer even if an agreement isn’t reached on the renewal. Only an offer of €80-90m could change the stance but no club has even come close to this figure.

In conclusion, it seems that both Hernandez and Maignan will stay at the club for next season as well (at least) and that is certainly good news for the Rossoneri fans. Instead, it seems Ismael Bennacer could be the one to leave.

    1. We won’t be a top team, with just 2 top players, looking at the way the market is going, all the others post are and Will be covered by average players

  1. We are on good road. We need 50 more million euros per year to become strongest team in serie a. To do that new stadium must be built

  2. Bennacer leaving for 50 mill is a great deal for us. He hasn’t been back to his level since his injury.

Theo and Mike are most welcome to stay, and they deserve higher salaries, but if a club come in with the sufficient money, neither is likely to stay, I think. With no offers, the contracts must be renewed now, not next summer.

I’m hopeful someone comes in for Leao and meets the 175 mill clause.
