Ayyoub Bouaddi, who was once recommended to AC Milan by Fonseca, played from start in Morocco’s opening clash against Brazil last night.
At the tail end of 2024, when Paulo Fonseca was still in charge, the manager had asked Milan to attempt to sign Bouaddi. However, he parted ways with the Rossoneri about a month later and the idea was put on hold.

It re-emerged for the 2025 summer window, as well as the 2026 winter window, but once again things never got concrete enough. It’s something that the Rossoneri might have some regrets about when looking at the player today.
Too late for Milan
Yesterday, the Lille midfielder played from start in Morocco’s World Cup opener against Brazil, which finished 1-1. In other words, he’s now getting attention at the biggest stages of them all and as a result, his price tag will inevitably increase.
According to Daniele Longo, Lille are expected to ask for €60-70m for their 18-year-old if any club comes knocking this summer. These are figures that Milan certainly won’t be able to pay, so their chances of signing Bouaddi have well and truly passed.

This is like buying stock at peak. Who can claim knew this guy is that good and will prove to be a winner?
Milan no matter what we do we get it wrong, and when we win the dam idiots that are screaming are silent.
Hello?! Do we ever do anything right? Reminder only Real can claim more then us, kat time I checked
And what have we won in the past decade exactly? 1 Serie A tittle with a team that was completely dismantled the following year…. No one is screaming anything bro, we are not the Milan that we remember
Ya that’s what they claim hes worth rn, but we all know buying from ligue 1 is a game of Russian roulette. Fofana was also heavily hyped when at Monaco. So was 100 others before him who never lived up to the price tag. He needs to actually show something before hes worth anywhere near that, not just because he’s young
well, his game yesterday he held of casmeiro raphina and anotehr in style at 18 . id say hes worth whatever ardon jashari was when we wanted him
Fonseca has a good eye. He was sabotaged by few of our players at that moment. If Fonseca has been backed by the management he would have achieved good results. Even in the short time and difficult conditions in which he worked, he managed to give a playing identity to that team.
Agreed. He really had a plan and vision. We are now not even in a better position since he was fired. If Leao and Theo acted professional, we would be in CL this year with Fonseca. He wasn’t a world.beater but he had a good plan.
I will always stand with Fonseca. The guy could have done great for us if only the management listened to him and backed him instead of backing Theo and Leao. The man is doing amazing job at Lyon with literally nothing! Not a single star player. And we’re here still struggling to get an identity.
Brother there was never an identity with him either🤦♂️ we were losing to relegation teams and watching him insist on starting the likes of Emerson at right back… he absolutely deserved the sack
You guys gotta be kidding me, I read your comments and Conceicao comes to mind.
Are you guys mistaking Fonseca for Conceicao? or
Are you guys kidding? or
Are you guys smoking something really bad?
We never looked good or special un Fonseca, absolutely not.
Brother, if time has proven anything its that you DO NOT judge a plauer of a short summer tournament. Do names like Golovin, arshavin, or robson kanu ring a bell? Renato Sanchez? Daamsgard? You never buy a player based just off a WC or Euros
You know what’s the real regret? It’s all about market value and potential capital gain instead of building a team. And that’s what this article is all about. A regret because he’s now worth 70 millions and not because he’s a talented player in the making with potential to be a star player for years to come. Regret because we missed on potentially huge capital gain.
It’s sad where this club has fallen.
Bingo!
That’s exactly what this is about.
Tears for not having cap gains smh
There is no regret, if we had signed him, he would be sent to Milan futuro
If theres a regret to have abouta midfielder, why don’t we talk about the fact we were linked to Szobozlai for about 3 years, but let him go to just eventually sign Okafor instead…
Do they really want a list of players we have regrets over since the Tevez days? Hell no.
Bouaddi won nothing yet, but Tevez led Juventus to win trophies right before our very eyes which was devastating to watch. We had him, we lost him.
Tevez was proven. Bouaddi? Still a huge gamble.
I am glad that they didnt go for him cause they would have ruined him in the futora team.
