Longo: Milan confident of securing discount on Basel left-back Calafiori

AC Milan have set their sights on Riccardo Calafiori for the post-Fode Ballo-Toure era. The Rossoneri are confident that they can secure a discount on the left-back, a report claims.

Ballo-Toure is set to leave Milan this summer and while this exit has been tougher than perhaps expected, the Rossoneri are still working on a replacement. Riccardo Calafiori is the primary target, according to Daniele Longo.

The Basel left-back has a higher price tag than what has been reported recently (around €3m), per the journalist, but Milan are confident that they eventually can secure a discount on the €6-7m demand. At the age of 21, anything between €3-5m seems like a fair deal.

As said, though, Ballo-Toure needs to leave before the mission can start. The Senegalese international has rejected multiple offers so far and it remains to be seen where he will end up, certainly out of Milan’s plans for the upcoming season.
