Longo: How Milan’s midfield could look against Cagliari without Krunic

AC Milan will have to make do without Rade Krunic against Cagliari on Wednesday as the Bosnian sustained a muscle injury against Hellas Verona. It looks like Tijjani Reijnders will be the one to replace him.

Krunic left the pitch with an injury in the second half and tests will be carried out tomorrow to determine the extent of his injury. He could be out for a month, as was reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, and he will certainly miss the next few games.

According to Daniele Longo, Reijnders is in pole position to replace Krunic in the No.6 role against Cagliari. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also set to play from the first minute, while there will be a battle between Yunus Musah and Tommaso Pobega for the space to the left.

Yacine Adli is also an option for the deep-lying role, as was confirmed by Pioli, and it remains to be seen if he will get the chance against Cagliari or Lazio. In any case, the situation is far from ideal.
