Longo: Milan ‘surprised’ by salary demands of Krunic – the Rossoneri’s stance

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Rade Krunic have begun the negotiations for a contract renewal but the parties are not on the same page just yet. According to a report, the Rossoneri were surprised by the Bosnian’s first demands.

Krunic has been an important player at the start of the season, although currently recovering from a muscle injury. He should be back for the game against Juventus, though, and is poised to play from the first minute.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, the renewal talks have begun but Milan were ‘surprised’ to hear that the midfielder wants €3m per year. Given that he currently earns €1.1m per year, the Rossoneri are willing to offer him €2m plus €500k in bonuses.

At the age of 30, Krunic is no longer young and Milan don’t want him on a high salary for two-three more years. The negotiations, however, are indeed young and there will be time to find a compromise.

In the meantime, Krunic is working hard to back in good condition for the clash against Juventus.

  1. When the player was pushing for fenabache move it was clear it was for the money. And Milan blocked it as if we can pay him as much. So who caused it?

  2. Wow shocker. Ungrateful bum. We should have sold him when we had the chance. He’s already 30 and he wants to be paid 3m for 3 years. He’ll be 33 at that point. He’s so bad now, imagine in a few years. Invest in youth and not in Pioli’s lover. “He plays hard” “he’s doesn’t make a mistake” “he knows the system”. lol, he does nothing!

    1. Don’t blame Krunic – he is getting older and wants to make enough money before he retires. Krunic wanted to leave and Milan didn’t allow him so now they need to pay him – Milan’s fault 100%!

      1. “Krunic wanted to leave and Milan didn’t allow him so now they need to pay him”

No they don’t. Milan can let his contract run out without giving a raise – and not a damn thing Krunic can do about it. You think finding an upgrade is hard? Even half of the superscouts on this website would find a better replacement in 5 minutes.

  3. One rule in life for the young one’s. You only set your value. If he value himself as 3 million man and if he gad an offer in hand then no one else can say you only worth 2… with that said the guy been around for long and as it seemed he was on the lower side since he moved in. Before he got injured he was a starter and crucial one for the coach…now though… not so much.

  4. Not sure why management should be “surprised” by his salary demands at all. That is why he wanted to go to Turkey because that is what they were offering him, so it should be to no one’s surprise that he wants the same from us. Not saying he is or isn’t worth it – likely not since Adli is emerging and Benny (hopefully will be back healthy) – but nevertheless we should have absolutely expected this.

  5. Milan has played so much better while he has been injured. He’s a good player but there is at least one better player at every position.

  6. Just sell this guy already. Milan would be silly to give in to his demands. A mediocre 30 year old career back-up now thinks he is a superstar. No thanks.

  7. This is why I wanted him to go because of the ungratefuness. Dude got blocked from making his money , gets abused by fans, holds down the fort until others get up to scratch, demands same money he wanted to leave for and they’re surprised lol. Dude should have just left. They’re not a grateful bunch these days. The mo these days is thanks but we dont need you anymore
