Longo: Milan unlikely to make additional first-team signings this summer

By Isak Möller -

Having claimed just one point from the first two games, AC Milan find themselves in a tough position with Lazio up next away from home. According to a report, the management also isn’t planning to make any additional signings as things stand.

Fans have rightfully been wondering about potential signings before the window closes, given just how dire it has looked for Milan so far. However, as reported by Daniele Longo, additional signings for the first team appear to be very unlikely as things stand.

Instead, Milan are looking to offload Yacine Adli (who reportedly is close to Fiorentina) and sign Silvano Vos for the Futuro side. The management believes that the work done for the first team is sufficient and that they will reap the rewards soon enough.

Furthermore, there has been a lack of mercato opportunities – perhaps contrary to what was expected – and this also prompted Milan’s decision. The deadline for the transfer window is August 30th by midnight, while the Rossoneri’s next game is scheduled for the day after.

Hopefully, Milan will bounce back against the Biancocelesti and claim their first win of the season, but a lot has to be improved for that to happen.

  1. Milan should get rid of some players who don’t put effort and are not willing to fight to win. Addition by subtraction.
Milan management needs to sit Theo and Leao down and have heart to heart conversation. Ask them if they have the desire, the will, the motivation, the commitment to stay and act professionally or not. If not, there are 5 days left in the market for either one of them to be shipped out. If they are going to perform and put the effort as they have in the first 2 games all season long, it’s best for everyone to go their separate ways. Both of them have been regressing for at least 2 years now, especially Theo.
Play other players. Even if you lose without those 2 at least it won’t be because of lack of effort.

    1. Im the biggest Theo fan and im so disappointed in his lack of effort yesterday. It was a disgrace, there’s no excuse for that. He’s been a captain before too.

        1. I’m all for renewing to him, but he has to earn his wage. You can’t play like this and expect 8M€ per year.
And it’s not even in his favour, because even if he wants to leave, no team wants a fullback who doesn’t go back regardless of how good he is

    2. Theo should have been pulled at half…as you said, even if you lose without him…he’s either injured or doesn’t care. both of which are a reason to put someone in who doesn’t have either of those problems…

  2. So we have no back up for Morata ? I very much doubt he will last the 50 or so games coming this season. We have all seen what Jovic and Okafor can do, pretty much nothing, so the worrying thing is that we basically have no back up striker and we are done with the mercato ??!! Worrying times, we could have got Pinamonti but he is scoring for Genoa, we could have got Lucca, but he is scoring for Udinese, we could have kept Colombo !!! But it’s OK….we have Jovic, FFS….

    1. Sell leao, chuk, and ben, sign chiesa, kone, amrabat, or rabiot. Deploy Oroghi Maru as secondary striker while he’s outta plan. Whut would it be.

    2. It’s not just about a new striker, If the teamwork played like last night, even Haaland will struggling to score a goal. Fonseca need to figure out the dynamism of the team. The team look clueless

    3. Bro don’t criticize management or the Redbird Lovers will call you an Inter fan and say go support another team lol.

According to them we are just perfect the way we are 🤮😂

  3. Not surprising news at all.

We are focused on the Futuro. Buying cheap young talent for eventual resale value. This is the Moneyball model and the Redbird way.

    Good times

    1. Well juve already harvest and sell a bunch young talent from juve next generation in serie C and even use them for bargain chip, so far they get 94m euro from their young talent . That money help them sign kephren thuram ,nico gonzalez, douglas luiz, and son of sergio conceicau ( forgot his name) , they also put bid for koopmeiner 60m euro ( still not accepted yet) . When ACM do the same with juve , you will say it is crime , so we must keep that many talent from futuro and have fat squad like chelsea ?? ( 42 player) . If you dont use that young talent better sell them for their career , dont kill their career if they cannot get playing time under current coach. Player like camarda, scotti, liberali,,torriani deserve to play as starter , if they cannot get that on ACM or ended like adili / pobega ( bench warmer ) better sell them for their career

  4. Yea when Longo say it, it must be true 😀 No I’m just kiding, almost everything what he sa this summer was false and our management need solved problems and they know now Chuk is not good enough, what means Pulisic will play on right wing and we need AMC then… And I think same with attacker, Oka and Jovic are good but really only from bench, Morata will be definitely great, but he don’t play 50 matches in full seasson
RLC can be good in AMC but from bench, he is better in DM with Fofana (for me )

  5. They don’t need additions , they need a change of attitude. Team with the right approach should be able to do a job against Torino and Parma
