Longo: ‘Nothing concrete’ regarding midfielder despite meeting at Casa Milan

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are, in addition to fighting for the Scudetto, making their plans for next season as a few reinforcements are expected. Julian Weigl is one of the players that have been linked with them, but there is nothing concrete.

The German international currently plays for Benfica and he could leave the club this summer, as per Calciomercato.com. However, the demand of the Portuguese side is around €40m, which indeed is hefty.

Milan had a meeting with the agent of Weigl yesterday, according to Daniele Longo, and the agent also met Juventus today. As far as the Rossoneri are concerned, though, there is ‘nothing concrete’ for the time being with regards to the midfielder.

It remains to be seen if Milan genuinely are interested in Weigl, or if it was just a courtesy meeting to lay the ground for other potential operations. The initial feeling is that it was the latter.
