Longo: Pioli’s position ‘not in question’ despite recent results of Milan

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli’s position is not under scrutiny despite the recent struggles in Serie A and the Champions League for AC Milan, as per a report. The management still believes in the 58-year-old, who needs to turn things around immediately.

Milan have claimed just one point in the last four games and the defeat against Udinese is by far the worst game of the season. With PSG up next, scheduled for Tuesday evening, Pioli will have to work wonders to get the Rossoneri back on track.

According to Daniele Longo, citing sources close to the club, Pioli’s position is ‘not in question’ despite the poor run of form. The manager will get more time to get Milan out of the crisis and it remains to be seen if he will be successful in that pursuit.

Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze are both expected to return for the PSG game, but Milan remain in an uphill battle nevertheless. After the 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture, it’s tough to imagine a completely different game on Tuesday.

  1. Considering the form the players are in and a general lack of idea what to do when they play they should fire him..
Last season was the same shît except it happened 2 months later than now

  2. Whatever the journalists want to say in their rags, we all know that Pioli is in the hot seat. Nobody saw Maldini’s sacking coming, and it will be the same for this bad bald coach.
Let’s hope Bonera and Zlatan can turn this moribund team around.

      1. I’m not so sure about Zlatan! As for Bonera, he has a degree in coaching and has already proved his worth during the COVID period, when Pioli and his deputy Murelli were both infected by the virus. Bonera then played for two big clubs: one in Serie A at Napoli, where the scoreline was 0-3 for Milan, and another draw in the Europa League against group leaders Lille, who had already beaten us in the first leg in Milan with Pioli on the bench.

  3. So what happens if he loses to PSG, draw against Lecce, lose against Florentina, draw against Dortmund. Even then they will say his job is not in danger.

  4. I wonder if he does not watch how Intermilan, Napoli plays as a team. You play Krunic who is very slow in midfield and expect a good result? Why not Musah and Reinjders that role, and play Pulisic as your attacking midfielder…or play Adli and Musah in that role…Musah and Reinjders are very energetic with good workrate…The man is just scared to try new things and scared to talk to players. How can Leao lose the ball and be walking as if he is a God, and pioli can’t talk to him.. it’s either he is scared of these players or his useless.

  5. Let all hope this is Longo’s version of April’s fool in December, because there is no way that team results and performances does impact the manager’s position. Unless, maybe the owners ae not as ambitious as they claim the Milan project is. Either way, I am looking forward to our champions league encounter with PSG. Maybe Longo will change is stance or write about the multitude of reasons why Pioli was fired after the PSG game.

  6. You are insider of acmilan but works Scenario that makes Sleep ac Milan Managers and Owners to take Action against pioli to fire him before he takes the team down to the ocean.
Your report helps our Rivels .
I have been telling honestly helping milan to my moral and knowled and experience and skills freely to tell that S Poili is not the man who can achieve both the Approaches and the Goals of the acmilan but he is both enemy and and envious and dull and sturbon so he is to fire before to start this season.
Soo look where the situation is rght now

  7. Our main problem, which has been going on since Montela’s days, is the ridiculous amount of injuries. If we solve that, we will go three steps forward

  8. Of course, management is going to say that. They will try to keep stability as long as possible while they negotiate with a suitable replacement. It will be like with Maldini, they will have everything needed in place, then just fire him, and a replacement will be brought in the same day.

      1. They will be building the stadium for years; it won’t be finished before 2028. If they leave Pioli do his “wonders” for 5 more years, there will be no need for a stadium, Serie D teams do not need 70k seats stadiums.

  9. Milan owner mostly will not fired pioli. If he fired pioli , he still pay pioli wage until contract end (2025) or pioli got coaching job before 2025
