Longo: ‘Positive’ Rabiot contacts but move hinges on Jovic – the situation

Luka Jovic’s future remains uncertain and while the main transfer windows closed at midnight, there are still some options on the table for the Serbian. If he were to leave, AC Milan could go for Adrien Rabiot as per a report.

The Rabiot rumours re-emerged yesterday as we revealed that Milan had tabled a new contract offer for the midfielder, who’s currently a free agent. If you weren’t aware, free agents can be signed outside the transfer deadlines.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Jovic believed that the renewal exercised at the start of the summer was a guarantee for his future. Instead, however, the uncertainty has grown and Milan are now evaluating the sale to free up a slot for Rabiot.

The striker had offers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar prior to renewing with Milan, but now that Tammy Abraham has arrived, he could re-evaluate these options. The Rossoneri had positive talks with Rabiot yesterday but everything is tied to Jovic, so they could push for the move.

Jovic’s agent Fali Ramadani has good connections in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, so it’s possible that these options could re-surface for the striker. The hope is that the latter will understand his role in the team and decide to move.
