Longo: Primavera striker set to leave Milan and join Serie C side Cesena

By Isak Möller -

Milan have decided to focus on young players and taking this past season into consideration, you can’t blame them. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t let go of any of their youngsters, which is understandable.

According to Daniele Longo, Riccardo Tonin is all set to join Cesena and leave Milan, although it wasn’t mentioned if this will be on a permanent basis or not. It will be the 20-year-old’s first experience with a first team regularly.

Update: It seems it will be a loan move.

This past season, he made 20 appearances for Milan’s Primavera side and scored two goals in the process, assisting an additional three. As said, it remains to be seen if it will be a loan or a permanent move.

Either way, Tonin needs playing time to continue his development and a move to the Serie C side could do him very well. If it’s just a loan we’re talking about, hopefully he will return as an even stronger striker.
