Longo: Saint-Etienne reach agreement with Milan but must convince outcast

Saint-Etienne are one step away from securing the services of Gode Ballo-Toure from AC Milan, having reached an agreement with the latter. The player’s go-ahead is still missing, per a report, and that is what the French side must work on next.

Fode Ballo-Toure has been on the market since the start of the summer, returning from his loan spell at Fulham, and it seems Milan have finally found him a club. According to Daniele Longo, an agreement has been reached with Saint-Etienne for his transfer.

Now, the French side must convince Ballo-Toure and there will be new contacts in the coming days to get the deal over the line. Considering that he isn’t part of Milan’s plans, as well as Saint-Etienne’s promotion to Ligue 1, it’s difficult to imagine that the player will say no.

Milan should cash in a nominal amount from the transfer, above all getting rid of the salary of €1.31m gross every year. No replacement will be signed as the Rossoneri have both Filippo Terracciano and Alex Jimenez for the left-back role, ready to give Theo Hernandez rest when needed.

In the meantime, Milan are preparing for the first game of the season as they will take on Torino at San Siro tonight.
