Longo: Three youngsters that will be promoted from the Primavera to Milan Futuro

The current season is far from over, but AC Milan have already begun planning for the next season. That includes the Milan Futuro team, with some notable promotions expected from the Primavera.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the specifics, the Primavera is Milan’s U19 side, while the Futuro is the U23 side. The idea with the latter is that the Rossoneri’s youngsters will get the chance to play against older players, either in Serie D (like this season) or in Serie C.

As we highlighted in our latest bonus article on Substack, direct promotion has more or less been ruled out for Milan, and the promotion play-offs are very complicated. If lucky, however, they might be able to register in Serie C as they did for the 2024-25 season.

Well-earned promotions

Regardless of the tier, however, we should expect to see some promotions from the Primavera to the Futuro for next season, as per Daniele Longo. The players in question are: Fabio Pandolfi (midfielder, 17), Simone Lontani (forward, 18) and Filippo Scotti (forward, 19).

While all three names are interesting, Scotti stands out with his seven goals and four assists this season, displaying great leadership qualities too as the captain of the Primavera. Just the other weekend, he scored a fantastic free-kick as part of a brace.

We’ll have to wait and see where Milan Futuro will play next season because as said, while organic promotion is complicated, they might be able to succeed through the paper route, so to speak.

  1. Nope, I’m afraid going from AC Milans academy and the Primavera team to Serie D is not a promotion.

In fact that is where the unwanted, discarded youth players from top clubs end up
