Sandro Tonali is just one step away from joining Newcastle, now expected to undergo his medicals in Romania. AC Milan are set to accept the bid and the midfielder did not push back, a report claims.
The news first broke on Tuesday evening and things have proceeded very fast since then. As per Sky Italia, the agreement will end up being worth around €80m, while Tonali is set to sign a contract worth €8m plus €2m in bonuses per year.
According to Daniele Longo, Tonali wants to join the English and ‘has not resisted’ since the interest was first made known to him. The speculation that Milan forced him to move because of the hefty offer can thus be put to bed.
Being a boyhood Milan fan, Tonali entered the hearts of the fans immediately and he helped give us all a great memory with the Scudetto season. His exit is bitter-sweet, but at least the Rossoneri will get a lot of money.
