Longoni: Raiola proposed swap deal involving Milan captain and Juventus winger – the latest

By Isak Möller -

The future of Alessio Romagnoli is a tad uncertain, given that his contract with Milan will expire next summer. Without a renewal, in other words, the captain could soon leave for free.

According to Andrea Longoni in his latest piece for MilanNews, there are two options on the table: 1) Romagnoli moves to another club in a swap deal and 2) Romagnoli leaves on a free transfer next summer. To date, the latter is more likely.

It will be very difficult to get any cash offers for the defender, especially in this financial climate, so the situation is indeed tricky. Mino Raiola, the player’s agent, is very happy with the situation as he has the upper hand.

A month ago, the Dutch-Italian proposed a swap deal involving Juventus winger Federico Bernareschi, another client of his. However, Milan said no to this opportunity straight away, not interested in the former Fiorentina man.

  1. I don’t understand the idea to keep Romagnoli, and to be honest Bernardeschi is so much better than Castillejo, even him would be a huge upgrade.

  2. A club cannot continue to lose assets for free and think that it will not come back to haunt them. Get what we can now of value because we are not in the driver seat with Riola. While I am not a Bernardeschi fan, the reality is that he is an Italian international so he is a significant upgrade over Samu.
Moral of the story is that it’s better to get a penny on your dollar than nothing at all.

  3. Most people don’t realize what raiola wants. If Milan should swap Roma and berna after three years he would come back and ask for crazy contract if Milan refuse his client will leave for free. Milan is not a dump ground of raiola. Milan has been existing before and after raiola. Look at all his clients the same story no club in Europe want to do business with him except PSG. Do you think they are foolish. Raiola is a greedy bastard who only care about his pocket and what he can get from free transfer. Look at Paul pogba man united prefers to let him leave on a free than sell him. It either raiola realize that greed won’t lead him anywhere the better. It will get to a time all his clients will be without club. Because nobody wants to lose on a well paid player. If berna is good there won’t be need for chiesa. So if Roma will leave for nut next season he should. As long as Milan won’t do business with raiola I am fine. He should go to hell with his clients we are fine. I don’t know Milan get khvincha the guy his four times berna

    1. I am in total agreement with what you said aobut the bastard and greedy Raiola.

No more deal with Raiola! No more deal with Juve, from whom Milan has had only the bad deals except Inzaghi.

  4. Milan has great scouts all over the world and the club has great strategists who can recognize the values of the players. As for Bernareschi at the European Championship, he showed that he knows how to play football and that he can bring the results that are required of him. The only thing I don’t like is that Milan is exchanging players with Juventus, but Juventus is Milan’s biggest competitor.

  5. It’s very obvious that AC Milan don’t want to do any more business with Mino Raiola. Lukaku was smart to leave the man. Soon, most big teams in Europe will stop doing business with him.

  6. If Romagnoli won’t extend and he won’t accept a transfer elsewhere (I.e., Barca) we may have no choice but to take Bernardeschi – at least he is an asset. I don’t care for him but rather have him and get something then let Romagnoli leave for nothing…..Perhaps we should mend the fences with Raiola. Don’t understand why he wants to screw us we took care of Ibra so well. We cannot let Romagnoli or any other player leave for free any more.

  7. I’d say go for it, except Berna is another Raiola client, so … no thanks.

I prefer he leaves for free and Milan don’t do any more business with that greedy fat pig Raiola.

  8. Bringing players from Juventus never ended up good last years. We only lost huge amount of money for unmotivated expensive players. Higuain, Bonucci, Kaldara… Just keep away from zebras. They spoil their players.

    1. Exactly! Milan always ends up take the rough end of the deals while Juve could dump the players it does not want to extract money from Milan.

No more deal with Juve nor with Raiola!
