Longoni: ’Time is running out’ for Fonseca – Sarri and Allegri ‘daydream’ about Milan job

It does not come as a surprise to see that Paulo Fonseca’s time at AC Milan is being questioned, and once again, there are beliefs that the Portuguese head coach faces an uphill battle to keep his role.

Describing this season as ‘more bad than good’ so far would be more than fair. After all, the game against Inter represents the only ‘real’ success of the season. However, the credit from that game is running out – if it had not already – and Milan now are in a troubling position.

Before the international break, the Rossoneri recorded two poor defeats, and patience and time are running out for Fonseca. As Andrea Longoni states for Milan News, ‘four defeats in nine games so far objectively represent a disaster’, because of this, it seems that Fonseca’s hold on the position is weakening.

If nothing else, the Derby looks like an exception to mediocrity – if not worse – and whilst Fonseca is not seen as ‘the main culprit’ he is not an innocent man in this situation, and if things continue at the current rate, then a change would be expected.

After all, Maurizio Sarri and Massimiliano Allegri are ‘daydreaming’ about the bench still, so suitors are waiting.

  1. This BS again. A merda and a communist. Neither a realistic option even if they do fire Fonseca. Which they won’t. Not unless the team is in the bottom half of the table.

  2. Realistically these 2 are unattached and would immediately be able to settle in. They have the pedigree in Italy and know the environment and probably have studied the team for an easier transition. I would prefer the more technically astute Sarri of the two. He has ideas and a clearly defined style of play. We need an upgrade not another experiment
