Taking a look at the players expected to leave Milan this summer

By Isak Möller -

In addition to signings, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are also working some exits this summer as AC Milan need to make way for the new players. As things stand, there are six so-called exit-bound players.

The first name is Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is expected to end his loan with the Rossoneri one year early. He didn’t exactly impress this past season and in recent days, Marseille have expressed their interest. And Milan are happy to send him back to Chelsea.

In addition to the Frenchman, Samu Castillejo is also destined to depart this summer and return to La Liga where he once made a name for himself. Real Betis have previously expressed interest and it remains to be seen how much Milan can get. Then there is also Mattia Caldara, who won’t get any playing time at Milan.

These three are the only certain departures, at least on a permanent basis, as there are some other players that will leave on loan. Matteo Gabbia is just one step away from Sampdoria and Verona are pushing hard for Daniel Maldini, while Marko Lazetic needs a loan experience for his career.

There are a few trickier cases, such as that of Fode Ballo-Toure. Milan weren’t impressed by him last season but also know that he’s a cheap backup. Besides, it will be hard to find a new destination for the former Monaco man (at least at the right price).

Other than these  six-seven players, Milan are not expected to sell unless very good offers arrive this summer. Something that must be monitored, of course.

  1. Reliable source N. Schira confirms that Bakayoko will leave, and that Marseille might be interested in saving him from the grandstands at Chelsea.

  2. If Gabbia leave on loan then Milan only have 3 CB; Kjaer, Tomori, Kalulu which is not good for a club who play in Serie a, UCL, Coppa, Super Coppa. They also need more homeground player for UCL. So i really doubt Gabbia gonna leave considering Milan didn’t get Botman, Romagnoli already left, and Caldara will be sell to any club who wants him.

And Ballo Toure will stay. He’s just Theo backup so why would Milan sell him and waste another money to find another backup? It’s not making any sense. Beside, i feel he deserves a second chance.
