AC Milan managed to beat Lumezzane 7-0 in their first friendly of the pre-season today. After the game, the Serie C side’s manager Arnaldo Franzini revealed interesting details from his conversation with Stefano Pioli.
It was a comfortable game for the Rossoneri, taking the lead after just five minutes through Tommaso Pobega (Christian Pulisic assist). After that, it was game over for Lumezzane as Milan never took their foot off the gas.
After the game, Lumezzane manager Arnaldo Franzini was interviewed by TeleLombardia (as cited by MilanNews) who were looking for some big news from the 55-year-old. Much to their surprise, perhaps, he was very open about his conversation with Pioli.
“He told me they are trying to change, from what we read the 4-3-3 will be the formation. He’s buying players suitable for this type of game. Apart from the tactical discourse, it was a discourse on new signings, on how the new players are doing.
“And probably someone important will arrive, I think. From what I understood someone important is coming, I don’t know who. I think in attack, in my opinion, they will do something,” he stated.
The big signing in attack is probably Samuel Chukwueze, as Milan are currently in advanced negotiations with Villarreal for the player. He could also be referring to a striker, but the Rossoneri are not expected to spend that much on a No.9.
