Barcelona are preparing themselves to make a ‘big coup’ in the 2025 summer mercato, and AC Milan must brace themselves for a bid for Rafael Leao.
Leao’s possible Milan exit has been an ongoing discussion this season. With all the controversy and sub-standard performances, talk of a departure has been rife, and a club are readying themselves.
Before the most recent summer mercato, there was interest from across the world. Manchester City and Manchester United headlined interest from England, but there was also interest from PSG and the Saudi Pro League.
No move away ever happened, though. Instead, Paulo Fonseca’s meeting with the star looked to have meaning, and Leao entered the season as a Rossonero. However, it was not the Leao that the Diavolo expected.
Instead, the winger struggled to find his feet in a new system, and was entwined within controversies, leading to him spending some time among the substitutes. Whilst there are no issues between the pair now according to Leao, the 25-year-old still gave a mandate to his agents to find a move away.
To add to this, he would reportedly not turn down a move to Barcelona, and with the Blaugrana ‘dreaming’ of adding him to their squad, a route may be possible.
He is, understandably, not the only target that the Catalan club are eyeing up, though. This morning, Calciomercato.com suggest that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is also being considered, and with the club’s new Nike deal, the budget could be there.
In fact, Hansi Flick and Deco believe it is ‘essential’ to make a ‘big coup’ in attack, so in the summer, they will ‘lunge for an offensive player’. A super-hit could, therefore, arrive at Milan’s door, so they must brace themselves.
Kvara would be good for Barca’s style of play.
Yes I agree with you but it will be the greatest sin for Milan if their just let him go to other club.
