SM: Leonardo wants Lyon star Paqueta at PSG – Milan hoping for €10m windfall

AC Milan are watching on with interest as Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo wants to sign Lucas Paqueta for the second time.

According to what we have learned through our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Leonardo wants Paqueta again as the Brazilian has found his best form since leaving Milan for Lyon. He has 29 appearances this season, with 8 goals and 4 assists playing as both a mezzala and a playmaker.

A positive booty that seems to have convinced even the skeptic Al Khelaifi, ready to open his wallet for Leo’s bet.

Milan’s loss could become a gain

Lyon paid around €20m to sign him from the Rossoneri and now they want €50m if they are to sell the 24-year-old, especially to a domestic rival. However, it is a figure that does not scare PSG and that will hardly be negotiable.

About 20% of the sale would go to the Rossoneri, as per a clause included in the contract, so Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara could therefore receive a boost of about €10m to be able to spend in the summer transfer market.

The career of the Brazilian

Paquetà was brought to Europe by Leonardo when he was the Milan director as the club shelled out €35m to sign him from Flamengo. After a positive first six months alongside another signing from the same window in Piatek, the attacking midfielder struggled in 2019-20 and it became clear an exit was on the cards.

From there Ivan Gazidis made the decision to sell him to France, where Lyon chose to pay €21m to sign him. Now he represents a a player that PSG believe could potentially be a replacement for the departing Angel Di Maria.
