Lyon try for Bakayoko but agent explains why deal is ‘somewhat complex’

By Oliver Fisher -

Tiémoué Bakayoko looked like he could well be moving on deadline day firstly to Cremonese and then to Lyon, but now any hopes seem to have died.

Calciomercato.com report that Bakayoko was indeed talking to Lyon, who are looking for a new reinforcement in the midfield and had offered the Frenchman a potential exit route after he turned down Adana Demirspor and given that Cremonese’s interest went cold.

However, the report cites L’Equipe in claiming that the Blues asked Milan for compensation to give the green light to the terminated of his deal, but the Rossoneri management rejected this request.

Now, Bakayoko’s agent Federico Pastorello confirmed to Sky Italia that there were/are problems with the potential moves to Cremonese and Lyon.

“Unfortunately he didn’t have the opportunity to join Cremonese due to a series of problems. Lyon? I think not, a somewhat complex situation due to some problems due to the termination of the loan between Chelsea and Milan… It’s a somewhat complex situation and times are limited for the change of club.”

Another transfer window therefore seems destined to pass without Bakayoko finding a solution, so he is expected to remain until the end of his loan deal in June.
