MN: Maignan ready for big stage return – with him in goal everything changes

By Oliver Fisher -

Mike Maignan is getting ready for a return to Champions League action and all being well it will come against Spurs tomorrow night.

MilanNews recall that Maignan has only played tow Champions League games in this season’s edition of the competition, namely the first two group games away against Red Bull Salzburg and at home against Dinamo Zagreb in September and October before he suffered a calf injury which resulted in a five-month absence.

Now Maignan is back and will be between the posts in one of the most important games of recent years, because tomorrow evening Milan are playing for qualification to the quarter-finals and having Maignan in goal changes everything.

Yesterday the change in the UEFA squad list was made official: the Frenchman has come in and Ciprian Tatarusanu has dropped out. Now, the former Lille man hopes to return to being decisive for his team on the biggest stage.
