Over the summer, all eyes will be on the UEFA European Championship in Germany. However, there may be another event for AC Milan fans to watch while the Rossoneri are not playing.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the upcoming summer will be the 2024 European Championship, where Italy will look to retain their title from 2021. Milan are set to be well-represented in the tournament, and the Rossoneri could have representation in another summer event.
As reported by the DailyMail, there is a concrete possibility of a new ‘Over-35’ World Cup happening in England. Plans are reportedly in place for an eight-team tournament involving England, Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Uruguay – who have all won the competition previously.
Reports suggest that the Diavolo will be well-represented in the tournament. Ronaldinho and Ricardo Kaka, who both featured on a list of ‘The best 25 players of the 2000s so far‘, are set to be involved, alongside Marcel Desailly and Cafu, who could all represent the Rossoneri, amongst other high-reputation names such as Thierry Henry and Michael Owen.
