Maldini accuses Berlusconi of being ‘inelegant’ with his jokes

By Isak Möller -

Paolo Maldini, the technical director of AC Milan, spoke to the microphones of Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it) earlier today about the Rossoneri’s situation. He was also asked about Silvio Berlusconi.

The former Rossoneri president sold the club back in 2017 to Yonghong Li. Since then, as we all know, the hedge fund Elliott have taken over the control of AC Milan. They have also added Paolo Maldini and Zvone Boban to the management.

In the interview, the former captain praised Berlusconi for his achievements with the club. However, he also stated that his jokes make in him ‘inelegant’, referring to recent comments (Teleombardia via MilanNews.it) from the 83-year-old.

“Berlusconi is a great president, the best I could have had. He’s a person I love. His tendency to make jokes often makes him inelegant, but the affection for him will always remain unchanged,” Maldini stated.

During his time as owner of Milan, Silvio Berlusconi won 28 trophies in 26 years. Of course, this is a very good record for a club, let alone for a single owner. Therefore, he has a special place in the heart of the Rossoneri faithful.
