Di Marzio: Maldini will fly to Belgium on Wednesday for De Ketelaere – the new offer

By Isak Möller -

The next few days will be decisive for AC Milan’s pursuit of Charles De Katelaere, who has made it clear that he wants to join the Rossoneri. In fact, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will travel to Belgium tomorrow.

Milan have been in talks with Club Brugge for quite some time now and with the start of the season approaching, they want to get the deal over the line. A new, and possibly decisive, attempt will thus be launched by them tomorrow.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via SempreMilan.it), Maldini and Massara will table an offer of €32m plus bonuses during their visit to Belgium. Their plan is to return to Milano with De Ketelaere and the total cost of the operation would be €35m.

Milan already have an agreement with the 21-year-old on the basis of a five-year deal worth €2.5m per year. In other words, Milan’s trip to Belgium will be the final attempt and it remains to be seen what the outcome will be.

  1. We Remember Faivre. By tomorrows end we know he is no longer a target. Milan will look at cheap and low quality options that belong in Serie B or bottom teams of Serie A. No De Ketelaere, Ziyech , sanchez, Luiz.

    1. What on earth make you think that we will settle in for a serie b player or bottom on the table serie a?? (Beside from messiah)

          1. Any outfield players?
Balo-toure, bakayoku, florenzi, Messias were the outfield players we got beside Giroud after speculations of higher prospects. But keep dreaming kid

        1. They signed Maignan, Tomori and Tonali to permanent deals in last summers window. You sure you’re not an Inter fan who got lost on the way to SempreInter?

        2. You asked ONE good player that Milan bought last season and i gave you one. You should take your L with you and shut the F up kid 👎👎

  2. Maldini’s trip to Belgium says a lot! I doubt he’s going on a tourist trip for no reason. I think they pretty much believe in this boy, and no matter what the media says, they’re going to raise the bids it takes to get him to Milan !

    1. Because CdK prefer to stay at Brugge and play in CL rather than move to Leeds. Brugge cannot force CdK to sign contract with Leeds. Brugge also know they are not big club and it will be better for Belgium if CdK play in bigger club.

  3. This CDK guy is over hyped, the dude is not even the best player in his team that plays in Belgium league.

I hear Milan wants to pay 35m, that’s too much, this dude is 1,93cm and can’t even run and misses in some matches.

That 35m should be for RW, because that’s where we need reinforcement, we already gave Diaz and Adli for AMF.

I don’t like the fact that we are paying too much for this guy

  4. CDK can distribute key passes smoothly, that’s the key point why do we need him.
That key passes is missing after Calhanoglu departed.
In Pioli’s system, an AMC’s duties are:
    1. Key Passes
    2. Long shots
    3. Dribble out from markers

And CDK’s best traits are perfectly in the same rangking. That’s why i highly agree with CDK’s transfer.

  5. Can’t wait when they report the plane is returning to Milan without CDK lol. This is comical. We have no $$$ yet again. CDK is under contract for another 3 years so Brugge don’t need to accept a penny less for him. Do some on here still think we are getting that “double discount” for CDK and Lang?? Lol. And what if we get CDK – who is next? We need a RW, CB back up LB and DM. Do we even have any $$ for those positions? Likely not which is why the loan formulas are at play. Juve just paid 47M for Bremer and we are struggling to sign one player that isn’t on a free. Love this new ownership. Much better than Investcorp would have been I’m sure lol.

    1. You should support Juve then if you love watching them paid €47 million for a CB who conceded 7 goals by Milan.
