AC Milan are not expected to be big movers during the January transfer window despite the fact the squad is far from complete, a report claims.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that barring surprises, Milan’s January transfer market should only consist of the signing Denis Vasquez, the Colombian goalkeeper who arrived from Club Guaranì.
Confirmation also came in recent days from technical director Paolo Maldini, who announced that there will be no new additions and therefore the Milan squad will remain this way until the end of the season.
However, the paper reports that the scenario could possibly change if an interesting opportunity were to present itself. The attacking department is in particular need of potential reinforcements because there is no current alternative to Olivier Giroud given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still injured (and it is not known when and how he will return) while Divock Origi cannot seem to stay fit.
Milan’s current idea is not to intervene but it cannot be fully excluded that something will change in the next two weeks. The possible arrival of a new striker would only be on loan, unless owners RedBird give the go-ahead to bring forward the purchase of a new striker in January, given one is already planned for the summer.
