Tuttosport: Maldini’s obsession Milinkovic-Savic could be Investcorp’s Scudetto gift

By Oliver Fisher -

If AC Milan were to get over the line and win the Scudetto this season then Investcorp could announce themselves with a big signing and a gift to Stefano Pioli, a report claims.

According to what was written by Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it) this morning, Investcorp could decide to give the Milan fans and Pioli a top-level Scudetto gift to begin the season in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbia international is a real obsession of Paolo Maldini who had already tried to bring him to the Rossoneri in the past, and with the budget allocated by Investcorp an attempt will certainly be made.

Not only that, but this could be the right moment for Milinkovic-Savic make the big jump he has always been linked with by leaving Lazio to fight for trophies every season.

However, there is competition to deal with because both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United (his first choice) are keen, but no formal offer has been presented to Lazio president Claudio Lotito who will try to sell to the highest bidder.

Meanwhile, Sky are reporting that the adventure of Milinkovic-Savic at Lazio seems to have come to an end and the Biancocelesti are looking for €80m to sell the 27-year-old, who has 10 goals and 11 assists in the league alone this season across 34 appearances.

  1. This would be the kind of gift from a new management i would be exited about as well but i’ll believe it when i see it as he propably will cost 70 mil or something.

  2. There is no way we can beat MU or PSG on transfer fee even with Arab investor. 80m euro for one player are too much for AC Milan. He is good but AC Milan cannot pay 80m euro for one player. AC Milan can pay if 50-60m euro / player

    1. Not so fast. Man U is a club in turmoil that will probably not even qualify for the CL this year. Meanwhile Milan is already qualified for the CL and is in 1st place with 3 games to go. It’s clear SMS wants to compete for trophies and I’d say it’s more likely with Milan than United. And with him it will be even likelier.

      1. Milan can’t compete with man united with the transfer fee or wages is what he meant. And if it’s “clear” that he wants to win trophies why the fuck has he been in Lazio for so long. This whole comment doesn’t make sense.

  3. for me the list i would like the manegment to send for milinkovic savic transfer to milan is 40/45mil anything above that is just a waste of funds.

  4. ufff that is a monster of a player. i’ll go even further and say the best midfielder of the league. if there is chance go for it Maldini

  5. no more than 50m,
Lazio is in serious debt, MU out of CL, PSG is after Pogba i don’t think SMS will accept to be his backup,
get 1 of SMS/Veratti/Pogba it’ll be big progres to our midfield cz PSG won’t have 3 super player in same pos/character

  6. IMO I wouldn’t spend 80M on SMS. 40M fine – But 80M? No TY – not at this stage of his career. I think there are more promising players out there. Buy De Keletare as CAM and Touchemi as DM for the 80M. Or spend it all on Darwin Nunez and sign Dybala for free as our CAM with Adli backing him up. Besides it would seem SMS has his heart set on going to Juve…not sure how Juve can spend 80M in January and spend another 100 plus million this summer despite being 400M in debt and UEFA doesn’t look into them for FFP…but that is another story lol.

  7. Even if Investcorp showed the muscle to somehow beat Man Utd and PSG to signing SMS, there is no way we can compete salary wise, specially in this time of contract renewals.
