Sky: Maldini and Massara have long discussion with CEO Furlani after Sassuolo drubbing

AC Milan fell to their worst defeat in a long time this afternoon as they were beaten 5-2 at home by relegation battlers Sassuolo, and it seems to have caused concern among the management.

Milan’s defensive record coming into the game was under fire but it got worse when Sassuolo scored three goals in 11 minutes through Gregoire Defrel, Davide Frattesi and Domenico Berardi to go in 3-1 up at the break, and they added two more after the interval en route to a rout.

Sky (via MilanNews) write that at the end of the game there was a long discussion between technical director Paolo Maldini, sporting director Ricky Massara and the new CEO Giorgio Furlani to analyse the rather complicated situation.

However, no changes are foreseen to the plans for the next couple of days, so the squad will have a rest tomorrow, resuming training on Tuesday with the obligatory lunch at Milanello ahead of the derby against Inter next weekend.
