Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have begun the process of renewing Mike Maignan’s contract after the French goalkeeper has rapidly become one of the best in the world, a report claims.
As has been reported by Milan News, whilst there is no immediate rush to get the deal signed, the club are aware that there will be plenty of interest in the goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

There is thought to be a will from both club and player to carry on together and his salary currently stands at €2.8 million, much lower than his value probably warrants now.
His current deal is meant to expire on June 30, 2026. Milan want to extend it to 2028 but due to rules around valid contracts greater than five years, the deal could only be filed after July 1.
No specific teams have been heavily linked with Maignan but he will be on the minds of many big clubs in Europe.

Some keepers are worth points, Mike is worth titles. We need to hold on to him as long as possible.
If he had been fit all year we’d be fighting for the Scudetto.
He never ceases to amazes me. I confess that I was very worried about / his incredibly prolonged injury, but the man came back better than ever. He’s really quite something.
I go to the point to say that he’s perhaps our very best player, even better than Theo and Leão, in relative terms.
If they were smart they would increase his salary on his current contract then do the additional years when it’s allowed. Keep him happy. 2.8mil is not at all what he’s worth.
4 Million is what he deserves maybe more if he wins us the UCL
