90min: Maldini the key as Milan are confident of tying up €47.5m double deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are feeling confident that they will sign Lille duo Sven Botman and Renato Sanches in the summer, according to a report.

According to 90min in England, the Rossoneri management have been in talks over both players since the January window and are hopeful of sealing a double deal worth a combined £40m (€47.5m). That breaks down to Sanches costing £15m (€17.8m) and Botman being about £25m (€29.7m).

Newcastle were interested in signing Botman in January and they believed that he was keen on the move but Lille ruled out an exit before the summer, so they sign Dan Burn at centre-back and Milan are now leading the race.

90min add that Paolo Maldini – Milan’s technical director – has ‘played a huge part in convincing Botman’ to choose the Rossoneri. Botman is seen by Milan as the ideal long-term replacement for Simon Kjaer and a ‘perfect long-term partner for Fikayo Tomori’.

Sanches has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool but he also has been convinced by the idea of moving to Milan, where he would likely be a replacement for Franck Kessie.
