MN: Maldini working towards €28-30m deal for Milan’s No.1 summer target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have decided to go full steam ahead to try and close a deal for Sven Botman as soon as possible, according to a report.

Even though there is eight games left in the Scudetto race, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara already know some of the signings that they want ahead of the 2022-23 season, and Liverpool striker Divock Origi should be the first new addition on a four-year deal.

According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri have identified Botman as the ideal profile to complete next season’s centre-back package with Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu, a fully recovered Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia.

Alessio Romagnoli will leave on a free transfer at the end of the season unless something changes, so Maldini and Massara are trying to reach an agreement with Lille at around €28-30m including bonuses to give Pioli a talented left-sided central defender who will be Tomori’s partner immediately and for the future.
