SM: Maldini eyeing a third deal with Empoli as €10m midfielder is targeted – the latest

AC Milan are interested in signing another midfielder from Empoli in Kristjan Asllani, according to the information that we have received.

Reports recently have claimed that the Rossoneri are keeping an eye on different profiles to reinforce the midfield immediately but also in view of the future, with Renato Sanches of Lille among the names linked, and in the last couple of days the name of Asllani has emerged.

Positive relations

As our colleague at SempreMilan.it report, Milan have excellent relations with Empoli as seen by the Rade Krunic and Ismael Bennacer deals, and this could represent the accelerator that will allow Milan to overcome the competition of Inter for the Albanian midfielder.

As other sources have reported, the Tuscan side are indeed asking for around €10m to sell the 20-year-old talent, who can play either in a three-man midfield as the regista or mezzala, and also in a double pivot.

He has different characteristics from both Krunic and Bennacer, as Asslani loves to hit long and direct balls towards the strikers, the winger or the overlapping of full-backs.

Career so far and future

Despite his very young age, Asllani first showed off with Empoli’s Primavera last season as they won the Scudetto and now he plays continuously in the first team under the orders of Andreazzoli. He has made 14 league appearances for a total of 617 minutes to which must be added the nearly 200 played in the Coppa Italia.

At Milan, Asllani would certainly not play a leading role immediately but the Rossoneri scouts have already seen great potential in him and after what they have seen with Kalulu, Tomori and company, they are to be trusted.
