News that many AC Milan fans will not want to hear arrived last night; Manchester City are interested in Tijjani Reijnders.
For months, there have been reports of interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe regarding Reijnders. So, with the Manchester outfit looking to sign a midfielder this summer, it was only a matter of time before the Dutchman was considered.
It appears it is more than a consideration, though. Last night, The Athletic reported that the Citizens have contacted Milan to make their interest known. Whilst no official offer has been sent and talks are seemingly at a very early stage, the Premier League club are ‘hopeful’ of a deal.
Of course, the price tag on this move would imaginably be high, considering Reijnders seeming has no interest in a move away from the Rossoneri, proven by his contract extension in the midst of European interest.
However, the Sky Blues have the money to play with, and will be able to match the lucrative figures likely needed to bring him to the club.
It has been stated that City are mindful of the Diavolo’s Coppa Italia final this evening, which is why it has not progressed much further. But, in the days that follow an offer could potentially arrive.
Only hope we have is that Reijnders want to stay, but that is too good to be true if a more ambitious club like City knocking on the door
Yeah because everyone wants to go to a club that has 115 sanctions coming up
IF the English court has the balls to punish Man City hard and put English football in bad picture, then it’s another case. But how will they punish City? If it’s just a transfer ban, City will probably buy the players they need ahead of the ban. If it’s taken the championships and bring them down a couple of divisions, then Reijnders would probably stay. But Since City are so confident about the whole case and Haaland wrote under a new contract to 2030. It probably gonna be a transfer ban
Nothing that will impact the sporting side of the club is going to happen to City. Nothing.
If he goes, it’ll be sad but understandable. Key thing will be whether the club have his replacements scouted and signed well in advance… recent attempts at replacing haven’t been amazing but this is the main thing we need to get better at.
It’s not just about selling and finding adequate replacement (which this management is uncapable and incompetent of doing) but new signings will need to adapt. If a team wants to be successful on a long term, battle for trophies and above all be a team, then consistency is the key. Which we’ll never achieve selling players after a season or two.
So don’t be hopeful of any success with RedBird, we all know what this ownership’s business model is – resale and capital gains while qualifying for CL.
Lol We already have the chances of finishing the season with 2 trophies. But hey dont be hopefull for ANY success
Ah yes, a mid season exhibition tournament trophy and a side dish that is Coppa. What a prestige.
As Boban said: “There is now an accepted mediocrity on the part of many people.”
There is also pleasure from thinking the world is burning from people like you
It’s always YOU, spreading your anger among fans here. Every year, between May and September, you will ‘live’ in this comment section. School is ending, summer is coming, like go outside and spend time with real people. You don’t even have friends outside. You never do any physical activity other than beating your meat.
Your talking is like some online bitc who never fought anyone in the street. Always clowning people in the comment section lol.
Go get a life and lose some weight
Hard time swallowing the truth Boban gave out snowflake?
Two separate mates who are city fans have asked me about him on WhatsApp today – this is all over the English press too.
Forget any idea that he might want to stay. Tonali wanted to stay – it didn’t matter. If they choose to stump up the cash, he’s going. Their academy is fantastic so we should be looking for some kind of cash plus young player deal.
I think there is a genuine risk we lose Reijnders, Leao and Theo I’m one window here 🤦🏻♂️
Tonali didn’t want to stay, he was dealing with Newcastle long before he left. His focus is and has always been money.
Sure, that’s why he lowered his salary to come and play for Milan.
Origi didn’t want to go either and he’s still here. 🙂
Sell only if buy river star mastantuono. And give him space….sit on bench to study league is ridiculous….kaka played strait. Guy is no1 target for milan….must be…and with trosard on leao….conceicao or chiesa right….mateta CF….milan will rock
Trosard hhhh are you crazy so we are ac garbage
As long as we have replacements for reijnerds but honestly i think we will lose a big player on our hands as his impact alone this season had made sure we could at least have a trophy ( maybe 2) to make up for a bad season in the leauge. Eventhough defensively he wasnt excellent the impact as an attacking midfielder was more than enough. WILL MISS HIM!
Tijji isn’t leaving. Lots of speculation but here in Milan it’s pretty clear that he is staying.
So this article states what? Did man city call Milan and said ” hey we are interested in your player, ses you in summer bye” … or how do they make their “interest” to Milan clear?
Its bullcrap article once more.
Pretty much the first thing you said, yeah.
Ask for details (every club keeps a file on all players, a bit like a car), declare interest or not, let it swirl around the media for a bit to gage fan reaction and/or unsettle the player, compare with other targets (a club like City will be asking for details on a lot of players right now), make an offer.
If you’re good at reading between the lines, you can generally suss what complete fluff and what might have substance.
Tonali 2.0 incoming…
Wouldn’t blame Reijnders for leaving if he did.
I wont blame him if he want to move. Stay in this messed team are bad thing. You dont know next season who is the coach, for your career better play under guardiola than 2 cheap coach from portugal. If this management still have ambition, they will reject offer from MC for their key player, changing player every 1-2 season are sucks
Caldara, ballo toure, origi dont want to leave and they still in ACM until their contract expire, you cannot forcing player to leave. Contract are very powerful in footballl, even if you want to sell theo & maignan but they dont want to leave and choose stay until their contract expire then what can you do? Nothing you can do versus player will. Not even elliot & RB can forcing sell theo & maignan if they dont want to leave 2025 but choose leave free transfer in 2026. Many rich club also lose their key player free transfer because player dont want to move out
