Report claims €46.5m Man Utd flop is an option for Milan to replace Tonali

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have identified Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek as an option to replace Sandro Tonali, according to a report.

Fichajes in Spain report that Van de Beek is considered as one of the worst signings in United’s recent history and that the exit door will be ‘wide open throughout this summer’ for the Dutchman.

A future in Italy could await for the Dutchman because Milan are keen on signing the former Ajax star, who cost United €46.5m when they signed him in summer 2020 as per Wikipedia.

Van de Beek has the approval of the head coach Stefano Pioli, who has been the main supporter of said signing, and an amount of €20m could be enough for the Rossoneri to close the deal.

Milan needs reinforcements right away after Sandro Tonali’s departure to Newcastle as they are seeking to solve the worrying lack of depth in the squad.

    1. Why don’t we just buy him?

When you applied for your job did they offer you the job or did you former employer loan you to your new employer?

    2. Its unlikely he is still the player from Ajax who was wanted by all the top clubs in Europe

The United move and subsequent loan and at Everton and what happened there has killed him as a player, he need to go back to Holland and start over again, moving to a club like Milan could be too much for him in his current position, so spending €20m would be Ludacris

  1. I think he’d be a perfect option and he’d be a perfect fit for a loan player, he’s just been absolutely wasted by Man Utd – Free VDB!

Was surprised we haven’t tried before, but I think he wanted to try to get ten Haag’s attention. His wage is big but not like Pulisic big.

  2. NGL, I did like him when he was in Ajax, I thought he played very well in the 18/19 UCL with them. Will he succeed at Milan is another story (of course if Milan buys him)

    1. It’s hard to replace like for like for Kessie, Tonali and Bennacer..each bring their own flair to the game. But yea I get what ur saying. If anything DVB is more Krunic than Tonali

  3. why is Kamada not considered? It’s the best option considering cost and quality. Management are complete amateurs

  4. Yep, sweep all the premier league rejects and bring them here, good strategy. I was a fan of VDB but after loan spell to Everton I know he was trash. Milan should go for the current player we are already linked with.

  5. Nah he’s coming off a bad injury and it’s going to take him time to find his form again. Also players who are coming goff bad injuries usually get injured again or having niggling injuries because they are over compensating on the non injured side.

  6. I think he would turn into a top player for us. Loan with an option to buy would probably be best for us. That way risk is mittigated

  7. We’ll end up spending more money in the long term replacing Tonali.

He could’ve stayed at the club for 20 years. Instead we’ll be singing a new midfielder or two every year for the next 20 years.

  8. Speaking of Man Utd, they decided not to buy Sabitzer. Why don’t we spark our interest back at him? Surely he has more than enough quality and experience for us. And Romano said Bayern is willing to let him go for just 15-18 mil.

    1. Yes i read it too on romano . He is physical box to box midfield with low price , problem maybe RedBird dont want to invest on 29 years old player . I like that sabitzer play too when he was on leipzig

  9. Tonali sale has been so awful. All were bringing in is bottom feeder trash to replace a future milan icon. What a joke

  10. Mou and Roma have brought a certain spark into Italian football in recent years. I know it may not be a novelty but herh the idea the serie A now seem a suitable destination for premier league stars is gratifying.

  11. One should realize money is not all of it,is to find a proper replacement.couldnt replace kessie now it will be the same with tonalie
