AC Milan are far from happy with the officiating this season, which they believe has cost them several points along the way.

The fall-out continues after Milan’s home defeat against Parma, which ended their 24-game unbeaten run in the league and saw Inter move 10 points clear at the top of the table, with two weeks to go before the derby and the games running out.

The Rossoneri are looking back with regret at a performance that definitely lacked brilliant attacking play, but just like against Como also provoked a certain dissatisfaction with the refereeing and the VAR team.

The other incidents

There is a long list of decisions that Milan feel have gone against them. In round two there was a goal by Gabbia disallowed by VAR with the score at 0-0 for a slight push on Coulibaly. In round three Nkunku claimed two penalties, which were disallowed despite VAR intervention.

In round eight, Moreo’s block on Gabbia led to Pisa taking a 2-1 lead. A few days later, the Rossoneri faced Atalanta away and conceded the equaliser to Lookman, who shortly before had allegedly committed a challenge that Milan had deemed a red card.

During the 2-2 draw at San Siro against Sassuolo, Milan scored through Pulisic to make it 3-1 but it was disallowed due to a collision between Loftus-Cheek and Candé, which referee Crezzini deemed a foul. It was much less egregious than last night’s.

There was a stamp on Fullkrug’s foot in Milan-Genoa, for which a penalty was not awarded. Then there was referee Andrea Colombo’s behaviour in Roma-Milan, including the dishing out of yellow cards to Maignan after he stepped on the goalkeeper, and Modric who had been shoved.

The red card given to Rabiot for the match in Pisa on February 13th for two yellow cards was deemed incorrect, and prevented the Frenchman from taking part in the match against Como a few days later, while he remains one yellow from suspension. In short, the list is long.
