Marca: Competition for Milan and Inter as new club enters race for Barcelona man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Inter have been joined by Napoli in the race to land Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic this summer, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been persistently linked with a move for Rakitic since last summer when it was reported that then-CFO Zvone Boban was trying to convince his compatriot to move to Italy, but despite his departure there have been follow up reports claiming he is still a target for Milan.

The Croatia international has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season but has only started 10 La Liga matches, and he recently hit out at Barca by claiming they treated him like a ‘sack of potatoes’ – alerting Milan and Juve in the process.

Rakitic’s current deal at Camp Nou is set to expire in June 2021, and according to Spanish outlet Marca – as cited by Sportsmole – Napoli have joined Milan and Inter in the race for his signature.

The Partenopei are apparently getting ready to lose star man Fabian Ruiz, who has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid, and have identified Rakitic as a possible replacement.
