Marca: Real Madrid and Asensio’s stance outlined as Milan test the water again

By Oliver Fisher -

Marco Asensio seems to be back to his best for Real Madrid but his future there is uncertain and AC Milan have started to probe a potential deal, a report claims.

According to MARCA, Asensio’s agents will soon begin decisive talks around the extension of his contract which expires in 2023. The 26-year-old’s priority is to extend his deal with Real Madrid and that means Los Blancos feel their negotiating position is very good, so they are confiden that a solution will be found.

However, Asensio’s case could be another example of that which saw Raphael Varane leave, while the potential signing of Kylian Mbappe and/or Erling Haaland could push him out from a technical standpoint too.

Tottenham and Milan came knocking last summer and recently the clubs ‘have started to test the waters again’ as per the report. Asensio has given his priority to Los Blancos though having found his groove again, with his 10 goals this season behind only Vinicius Junior’s 17 and Karim Benzema’s 32 on the team.
